“One fire engine from Burnham-On-Sea was mobilised to reports of a chimney fire at a property on West Close in Mark,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“On arrival crews confirmed there was a fire in the upper section of the chimney and got to work extinguishing the fire using chimney rods and a hose reel jet through the inspection plate.”

The fire was confirmed as out at 9.39pm and duty of care was left with the occupier.

It’s the second chimney blaze of the week tackled by the town’s firefighters – Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called to a chimney fire in Berrow on Tuesday.
