Burnham-On-Sea’s MP opens Somerset Children’s Parliament

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP James Heappey has opened the Somerset Children’s Parliament this week.

A group of children from across the county gathered in the Council Chambers at Shire Hall, Taunton where Mr Heappey gave an opening address, before listening to the pupils taking part.

Mr Heappey said it was an “honour” to open the parliament.

“After a different week in Westminster, it was great to see young people talking with such knowledge and passion about the things that really matter to them, their families, and their wider communities,” he said.

“The Wells constituency was represented by Brent Knoll Primary School and St Andrew’s Junior School from Burnham-On-Sea.”
