The organisers of Burnham-On-Sea’s Carnival have this week presented a bumper cheque to the town’s Lions Club.

Members of Highbridge and Burnham Carnival Association, pictured, met on Wednesday (February 8th) for their AGM at The Coopers Arms where they looked forward to a busy year ahead.

And Colin Holdom from Burnham Lions was presented with a cheque for £1,152.67 following the Lions collection during last November’s carnival.

He said: “We were happy to provide a large number of marshalls at last year’s carnival and are delighted with this cheque – all of the funds will go to good local causes supported by the Lions.”

This year’s 71st Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea Carnival will be held on Monday November 6th at 7.30pm.

Key positions elected during Wednesday’s AGM were Phil New as Carnival Chairman, Paul Archer as Vice Chairman, Malcolm Borland as President, Matt Scott as Chief Marshall, Jonathan Walter as Treasurer, and Carrie Anne New as Secretary.
