An exhibition of colourful work by Burnham-On-Sea Camera Club members drew a steady flow of visitors when it was held on Saturday (June 10th).

The group’s ninth annual photography exhibition was held at Burnham-On-Sea Baptist Church in College Street, where scores of photographs by its members went on show.

More than 100 visitors attended, and got a chance to buy photos that caught their eye.

Organiser Sharon Stevens said: “We had 190 photos on display covering topics ranging from landscapes and portraits to nature and machinery. We had a constant trickle of visitors through the day and lots of positive feedback.”

The exhibition began with an official opening ceremony by members of Burnham’s RNLI, who received a donation of £35 from a raffle for a photo of Burnham’s iconic lighthouse taken by photographer Pam Donovan.

The Camera club is now in its 10th year and accommodates a members’ pool of all skill levels, ranging from absolute beginners to experts specialising in their respective fields.

It meets on Tuesday nights (from 7pm until 9pm) at Burnham Area Youth Centre in Cassis Close, Burnham-On-Sea (TA8 1NN).

Camera Club Chairman Mike Lang said visitors are always welcome to pop in on club evenings.

“Regular competitions, organised trips, days out, and guest speakers are a feature of our club,” he said.
