Helpers wanted for Berrow beach clean-up operation today

-

Volunteers are being sought for a community beach clean-up in Berrow this Saturday (January 14th).

The event, organised by The Friends of Burnham Beach, will run from 10am-2pm at Berrow Beach.

The first community beach clean of 2017 will see volunteers meeting at 10am in the Berrow Beach Car Park (TA8 2QX).

Organisers Mark Hollidge and Harriet Yates-Smith will be leading the clean-up. Harriet said: “This beach clean is one of our monthly events to keep Burnham, Berrow and Brean beach free from marine and beach litter and safe for everyone to enjoy. So please come along, join in, and have a chat!”

For insurance purposes children under the age of five aren’t able to participate unless their guardian signs a disclaimer form and young people under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Equipment is provided but please wear appropriate foot wear – wellies – as the mouth of the Brue will be muddy. Please also bring water and a warm coat!
