Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Beach to hold beach clean this Saturday

-

The Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Beach are to hold their latest beach clean this Saturday when local residents are being encouraged to get involved.

The group, pictured, will be meeting at 10am outside Burnham Sailing Club to clean the beach and banks along the mouth of the River Brue.

The group’s Mark Hollidge told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “Although a vast amount of litter was cleared by the ever-growing group in March, the recent high tides have again swept in their bounty of litter.”

“We would like to get the area spick and span for the on-set of the holiday season as well as keeping the place looking pristine for the locals who enjoy a stroll along the estuary and then along the beach.”

“We will be busy for about an hour and a half and all folks of 5 years and above are welcome to participate. Children, however, must be accompanied by an adult at all times.”

All equipment is provided but please wear footwear suited to what can be rather muddy conditions.
