Planning is underway for an Armed Forces Day parade in Burnham-On-Sea this June.

A working party of representatives from local groups, which includes the Royal British Legion and Royal Air Force Association, met this week to finalise the plans for the parade through Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday June 24th.

The parade will include local people from the Royal British Legion, Royal Air Force Association, Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, ATC, service personnel, St John Ambulance, BARB, RNLI, Coastguard and a group of bike riders.

The parade will start from Princess Street at approximately 12.30pm then move along the High Street to Abingdon Street for a ceremony by the town fountain in Old Station Approach at 12.45pm-1pm.

A competition will also be held on the day to find the most patriotic dressed shop window, supported by Burnham Chamber of Trade. All shops in the town centre will be encouraged to take part.

A ‘Brew for the Few’ coffee morning will also be held by the Royal Air Force Association as normal at 11am at The Railway on the same day.
