A local swimming teacher has teamed up with Brean Splash to launch new baby and toddler swimming classes.

Julia Borland, a fully qualified swimming teacher with extra qualifications to teach pre-school children, babies and children with special needs, is overseeing the fun lessons.

“I started teaching in 1998 at the British Primary School in Brussels, Belgium. After moving back to the UK I completed Waterbabies training in 2008 and taught Waterbabies classes for two and a half years before setting up my own swim school in 2010,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“I have recently moved to two pools and am now Somerset Swim Babies. I am now running in partnership with Brean Splash and currently teach babies and toddlers on a Tuesday morning and a new pool in Blackford from Wednesday to Saturday.”

“My objective is to provide parents and their babies and toddlers with affordable specialist lessons that will increase the confidence of both parents and their babies whilst introducing basic swimming and safety skills.”

“We have lots of fun singing and playing games. I am extremely passionate about what I do and love to see the progress of all my babies and toddlers both in swim school and after they move on to more conventional lessons and swimming clubs.”

“I have a lovely relationship with my families who I get to know sometimes over five years of swimming which makes my job incredibly enjoyable.”
