A Burnham-On-Sea pensioner is running two marathons in six days to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Sue Nicholls, 70, completed the Boston Marathon in America on Monday (April 18th) and is flying back home on Thursday before heading off to run Sunday’s London Marathon.

Sue, who hopes to raise £2,000 for Cancer Research, was delighted to win first place in her 70+ age category at the Boston Marathon.

Her son Alan Tilley, who lives in Berrow, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are all inspired by her. She’s such an amazing person who is proving that age is no barrier!”

Sue said: “The Boston Marathon was a great experience. The first 15 miles was really hot but as we got nearer to Boston the wind picked up – a head wind, of course – which made it a bit cooler.”

“The support along the route was brilliant – big crowds encouraging everybody.”
