Burnham-On-Sea students start week-long charity fundraising project

-

A team of youngsters from the Burnham-On-Sea area will be fundraising in the town this week as part of a special project to help a local charity.

The ‘social action project’ is part of the group’s National Citizenship Service and will see them raising funds for the Huntspill Project to help disabled adults.

The team, made up partly of former King Alfred School students, wants to raise money for the group to provide new animal care facilities for the adults who use the centre.

Throughout the week, starting Monday July 25th, the team are holding a sponsored cycle from Burnham-On-Sea Pier, a car wash, cake sale and a bucket collection in Burnham-On-Sea High Street.

A car wash will be held at Burnham-On-Sea Fire Station during Tuesday as part of the project.

A cake sale will be held at the Princess Theatre on Thursday from 10-3pm before the team visit the centre on Friday to present them with the money raised.

Each day will run from 10-5pm, excluding the cake sale, and the group say they appreciate all the support they can get from the local community.
