Large numbers of people are visiting Burnham-On-Sea to see its new street art – three weeks after the town’s Spray Jam festival.
The unique, eye-catching art has become a visitor attraction that is pulling in extra people into the town centre, say the organisers of the festival.
Organiser Becky Hewlitt, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are continuing to see lots of people visiting Burnham to look at the art – it’s great that this is happening and shows there’s a lasting legacy with the project.”
“Some locations, such as the giant shark wall outside Nick Tolley’s photography shop in Abingdon Street, have been especially busy.”
She added: “We are putting together a list and a map that will show visitors where to see the artwork around the town centre.”
Asked whether a 2017 festival is planned, Becky said: “We really are hoping to come back next year with a follow-up festival – I’ve already had expressions of interest from five businesses who want to get involved next time.”
“Lots of people are saying they are really impressed with the standard of the artwork and would like to see more.”
