Busy Sunday of events planned at Burnham’s St Andrew’s Church

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s St Andrew’s Church is getting ready for a busy day of activities on Sunday (December 18th).

At the 10am Eucharist service, the curate, the Reverend Sharon Eldergill, will be licenced as Associate Vicar of Burnham-On-Sea.

Revd Graham Witts, the Vicar of Burnham, explained: “This means that we are marking the formal end of Sharon’s curacy. Not only that, but we mark the beginning of a new phase of working for her.”

“It is the same as someone completing an apprenticeship – the ‘L plates’ come off. The Bishop of Bath & Wells, the Rt. Revd. Peter Hancock, will be leading our service and licensing Sharon. Anyone who wishes to come along and support Sharon would be most welcome.”

Then at 4pm, the Burnham Bereavement Café meets for the last time this year in St Andrew’s Church and anyone affected by bereavement or loss, of any faith or none, is welcome to come along and share in this special event which lasts for an hour.

The day will be rounded off with a traditional Carol service for the whole community at which children from St Andrew’s School will be singing. It starts at 6.30pm and ends with mince pies and refreshments.
