A Burnham-On-Sea youngster is raising funds for charity by having several inches of her hair cut for charity.

Sophie Greenwood, 7, from St Andrew’s School in Burnham, decided she’d like her hair cut short to raise funds for the Little Princess Trust, which donates wigs to children who have lost their hair after chemotherapy.

Her mum Sarah told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Sophie has watched lots of videos of little girls who have their hair cut for the trust, and has made up her mind she wants to do it too.”

“She is having eight inches cut off to send to the charity in Burnham. She’d like to raise £350 which is needed to help fund the cost of making the wig.”

“Sophie was born with Craniosynostosis, a rare disease where the skull fuses in pregnancy, and has had several major surgeries at Great Ormond Street to correct this. She is a very strong minded girl.”

“She has a scar right across her head from her surgeries and we feel she is very brave and so proud she is thinking or others.”
