A seagull trapped on the roof of a Burnham-On-Sea town centre business was rescued by firefighters this week.

A Burnham-On-Sea fire crew was called out to the High Street to bring down the bird using an extension ladder, as pictured here.

The incident occurred above CJ Hole estate agents on Wednesday afternoon.

The northern end of Burnham High Street was temporarily closed to traffic while the crew carried out the high-rise rescue.

The bird was handed over to carers from the RSPCA before it was taken away for treatment.
