A group of tenants has this week moved into the first four new Burnham-On-Sea homes that Sedgemoor District Council has built in at least 30 years.
These homes are the first of a planned 18 from Sedgemoor District Council, alongside Homes in Sedgemoor, which are currently under construction in the area.
Council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “After government changes in legislation, Sedgemoor District Council took the opportunity to start building badly-needed houses.”
“After looking around at its estates, it was decided to redevelop some redundant garages and build a range of brand new, energy-efficient homes.”
“The first scheme to be completed is at Rosewood Close in Burnham-On-Sea, where four one-bedroomed flats were handed over to new tenants on December 21st.”
A further fourteen new family homes are currently being built and will be completed by February 2017.
