A busy road on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea has closed for six weeks for major roadworks.

Burnham Moor Lane is shut to allow Somerset County Council to completely refurbish a bridge along the road.

The works started this week on 5 September and will last for six weeks.

The closure along Burnham Moor Lane from the junction with Pillmore Lane runs north-westwards for a distance of 1,130 metres through to the A38 junction.

While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed, with a diversion in force via East Huntspill and Watchfield.
