A pole dancing evening held in Brean has raised over £2,000 for a local charity.

Local pole dancing fitness group Pole Essence organised the annual charity showcase event, with members performing a number of routines at The Beachcomber.

The event raised £1,978.77 on the night and saw a grand total of more than £2,000 collected for Cots For Tots.

This year the theme of the evening was ‘A Night at the Musicals’, with the students and instructors of Studio Essence performing routines to songs from famous musicals, showing off what they have learnt to family and friends.

Studio Essence is a pole fitness and aerial hoop school, based in Highbridge.

Its owner Sam Smith told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am absolutely thrilled with the amount raised and proud of everyone who participated in the show.”

“For some it was the first time and it’s quite nerve racking showing off what you can do to family and friends. This evening would not have been possible without the help and support of The Beachcomber.”
