Members of Burnham-On-Sea and District Pantomime Society are celebrating this week after receiving seven award nominations for their performances of Mother Goose.

The fun-filled show was performed at Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre in January, providing audiences with a traditional pantomime.

Somerset Fellowship of Drama held its annual Cinderella Awards evening at The Haynes Motor Museum conference centre on Saturday where Burnham and District Pantomime Society were nominated for seven awards.

Burnham-On-Sea and District Pantomime Society’s Mo Cooper said: “I and all the society’s members are very proud of our nominations for Best Junior Chorus, Best Costumes, Best Sound effects, Best Stage Management, Best Theatre Design, and also two for Emma Twigg who played Silly Billy – Best linkman and in the Eddie Bowker Award section, Best overall performance of the year.”

“In my and director Lorna Blair’s eyes all of the cast and crew and organising committee are superstars!”

“A big thank you for the support received goes to our local audiences too. Now it all starts again and our next Panto will be Aladdin.”
