-

A Burnham-On-Sea pensioner has celebrated her 100th birthday this week with family and friends at a residential home in the town.

Naomi Vowles enjoyed a party with staff and other residents at Beaufort House Residential Home.

She received her traditional telegram from the Queen and was presented with a birthday cake made by the home’s cook and received flowers, chocolates and champagne. Naomi said had enjoyed the wonderful day.

Another resident, Peggy Frost, who is 99 and will celebrate her 100th birthday next month, said she and Naomi had been friends since they were 9-years-old.

She added: “I would never have expected to be celebrating our birthdays together, let alone our 100th!”

Naomi’s family went on to hold a super party for her in the sun lounge, the champagne continued to flow, along with a selection of Naomi’s favourite foods.

Susan Dean Manager of Beaufort House told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It is an absolute privilege to be able to celebrate Naomi’s 100th birthday with her.”

“The staff have all worked very hard to ensure Naomi’s day was one to remember.”

“We are now looking forward to having another 100th party for Peggy next month.”
