This colourful new mural has been unveiled in Burnham-On-Sea this week after being produced by pupils from a local school.

The children at Churchfield Church School in Highridge were invited to produce the artwork for a mural in The Princess Theatre’s car park.

Twelve young artists from the school produced a series of drawings which were inspired by a talk by Samantha Nicol, Theatre Manager.

“The children thought about what the theatre has and is being used for and enjoyed looking at the posters that Sam showed them from past performances,” said teacher Margaret Micklewright.

“Amongst their favourites were the pantomimes and singers, the coffee shop and the theatre’s previous use as a fire station.”

Pupils from Reception to Year 6 were involved, helped by staff members including Mrs Waters and Mrs Micklewright. Thanks go to Samantha Nicol and photographer Nick Tolley for his help.
