Burnham-On-Sea film screening raises over £300 for local charity

-

Over £300 was raised for the South and West Somerset Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association during a special charity film screening in Burnham-On-Sea on Monday (June 27th).

To mark Motor Neurone Disease awareness month, a gala screening of the modern silent movie The Artist was held by Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Cinema.

“A good number enjoyed the afternoon performance and helped the film raise £325 which will be spent caring for local people living with MND, their carers and families,” said Mike Price, chairman of the local MND branch, and who lives in Burnham. His partner, Jayne, died in 2012 from MND.

“The branch would like to thank the proprietors Pat and Beryl Scott for their support and also the Deputy Mayor Councillor Bill Hancock and his wife who attended the showing of the film.”

“The Branch would like to thank everyone who supported this worthwhile event.”
