Burnham runner aims to complete 50th half marathon and raise £20k

-

A Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser hopes to complete his 50th half marathon later this year as he paces closer to his target of raising £20,000 for a good cause.

Jason Vickers, who works at Burnham’s Tesco supermarket, has raised £18,439 for Multiple Sclerosis Society.

He will be taking part in the Great North Run this September and also hopes to compete in several other half marathons this year.

The plucky runner, who suffers from Crohn’s Disease, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I’m looking forward to taking part in the Great North Run for my ninth time.”

“I love running and have completed 47 half marathons since 1987 and hope to do my 50th this year, reaching my milestone of £20,000 for charity!”

“I would like to thank all my supporters locally for all their support and everyone at Tesco in Burnham for their encouragement.”
