Burnham and Highbridge residents urged to join Health Walks in July

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge residents who want to get more active outdoors, meet new friends, and find out more about the towns are being encouraged to join regular Health Walks.

To support those looking to put their best foot forward, Sedgemoor District Council is holding two new health walks on Tuesday 5th and 19th July from Highbridge Medical Centre.

Departing from the Medical Centre, walkers will take a flat leisurely-paced route for roughly 30 minutes, or 3,500 steps.

The guided walking route is accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs, all ages and fitness levels are welcome to join the group.

Walks will start at 1pm with new walkers being asked to arrive at 12.45 so a short registration can take place.

Children are welcome to attend but anyone under 16 should be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Four-legged friends can also join in the fun but must be on a lead at all times with any mess being cleared up immediately.

Future walks will be added to the Highbridge Walking Group programme subject to good attendance at the first two walks.

For more information please email jacqueline.strong@sedgemoor.gov.uk or call Sedgemoor District Council on 01278 435435 (9-5, Monday to Friday).
