Residents who want to get more active outdoors, meet new friends, and find out more about Burnham-On-Sea can join a new series of weekly Health Walks.

Sedgemoor District Council is encouraging people to pull on their walking boots for the free walks which start from Burnham’s Marine Cove Gardens.

The first health walk in a new series takes place from Marine Cove gardens on The Esplanade next to St Andrew’s Church on Wednesday 27th April starting at 10am.

The walk will then be followed by further weekly Wednesday walks on May 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th, but there is no obligation to do them all.

The walks take a circular route to Highbridge’s Apex Park, incorporating The Esplanade, River Brue and Marine Drive.

The walks will be follow flat level terrain suitable for families and are likely to take up to an hour.

All walks are led by a trained walk leader. Well-behaved dogs that are kept on leads at all times are also welcome.
