Burnham-On-Sea residents will be able to try out pilot gig rowing when the town’s rowing club holds an open day this Saturday (June 25th).
The “Try-A-Gig” event will be held through the morning at Burnham-On-Sea Motor Boat & Sailing Club.
“Come and join us between 9.30am and 12 mid-day and have a go at gig rowing. Meet the team, have a go, and eat our nibbles!” said a spokesman.
“There will be a series of have-a-go sessions at 9:45, 10:00, 10:15, 10:30, 10:45, 11:00, 11:15, 11:30 and 11:45.”
“Simply pop down to the club at the end of the South Esplanade in Burnham on Saturday and we’ll get you out on the water – and hooked on gig rowing!”
