Students at Highbridge’s King Alfred School were celebrating a superb set of impressive GCSE results on Thursday (August 25th).

Over 200 students headed to the school to open their all-important envelopes to discover how they’d done.

Overall 50% of students at the school achieved 5 GCSEs including English and maths at grade C and above.

There were many outstanding individual performances, including Rebekah Nicol 4A*, 3A, 2B, Distinction; Fred Tiso 3A*, 3A, 4B, Merit; Ariadna Vasile 2A*, 5A, 3B; Blas Sala-Rich 2A*, 6A, 3B, 1C; Hannah Sainsbury 1A*, 6A, 2B, 2 Distinctions.

Denise Hurr, Headteacher, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are proud of the achievements of all our students.”

“Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to achieve their potential.”

“We are proud of the excellent relationships in school and the dedication of our staff and community in developing our students.”

“The governors and I would like to thank the community for their ongoing support.”

Georgina Simms, pictured right, was “delighted” to qualify for dance school following her results. Jenny, her mother, said she was “thrilled to bits” with how she’d done.

Molly Guest was also celebrating, saying she was “over the moon” to achieve 3As, an A* and 4 Bs.
