Popular Burnham-On-Sea head teacher set to retire this month

-

A popular Burnham-On-Sea head teacher is retiring this month after 16 years at the school.

Gavin Morris is retiring from Burnham’s St Andrew’s Junior School. His retirement comes much earlier than expected due to a health warning.

“Mr Morris has been an inspirational and exceptional teacher, leader and Head Teacher, having served as Head Teacher for the past four years and having been Deputy Head Teacher for 12 years,” a school spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Mr Morris is loved and respected by staff, parents and pupils, past and present, as well as being respected in the wider Burnham community.”

“Moving forward, the governors are meeting to outline plans for the leadership of the school for the next academic year to ensure the school continues to provide the best possible learning environment and outcomes for all the pupils.”

“The staff remain as focussed and committed as ever to achieving the best for the pupils over the coming year and we are equally sure that the school can rely on the parents’ continued commitment and support.”
