A new funeral director has opened in Highbridge this week.
Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Michael Clarke and Mayoress Maria Clarke opened Richard Marsh Funeral Services, a branch of Burnham Funeral Services, in Market Street.
“We felt that for the convenience of the bereaved, an office in Highbridge would be useful,” said Richard.
“We now have a presence here serving the town and surrounding villages such as Pawlett, the Huntspills and Mark.”
“This new branch also provides a new memorial showroom, which our existing premises in Burnham doesn’t allow because of space.”
He added: “The expansion plans for Highbridge are quite big over the next ten years, so there’s a need here that will be served.”
