Dog owners have been warned not to use Burnham-On-Sea’s main beach over the winter after several were fined this week.

Tina Kick, Sedgemoor’s dog warden issued four Fixed Penalty Notices on one day alone this week to owners of dogs being walked on banned beaches.

It comes after Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here a week ago that proposals arte being considered to lift the beach ban over the winter months.

“The bans are still in place and the proposals are just that – proposals,” council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week.

Dogs currently remain excluded all year round on Burnham-On-Sea’s main beach between the Jetty and The Pavilion.
