Burnham-On-Sea dog walkers have been issued with a further five fixed penalty notices.

Four notices have been issued to owners of dogs being walked on the banned beach area between Burnham-On-Sea Pavilion and the Jetty, pictured here, and one for dog fouling on The Esplanade.

Sedgemoor District Council says ten fixed penalty notices have been issued for dog-related incidents on the beach and seafront since October 25th.

The authority’s dog warden service will continue to undertake random patrols on beaches and will issue fixed penalty notices to anyone breaking the laws.

Dogs remain excluded all year round on Burnham-On-Sea’s main beach between the Jetty and The Pavilion.

Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here in October that proposals are being considered to lift the beach ban over the winter months – although town councillors have spoken out against the plan, as we reported here.
