Burnham-On-Sea firefighters release motorist from car after crash

-

Firefighters from Burnham-On-Sea were called out last night (Sunday) to help free a person from a car following an accident.

Crews from Burnham-On-Sea and Cheddar were sent to Sharpham Road in Cheddar shortly before 9.45pm.

“Two fire appliances from Cheddar and Burnham, along with one from Winscombe in Avon, attended the junction of New Road and Sharpham Road after reports of a person trapped in a car after hitting a wall,” said a spokesman.

“The front seat passenger was removed from the vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools. The casualty was able to walk from the vehicle.”

Police and ambulance crews were also on scene at the incident, which occurred during very poor visibility due to thick fog across the Burnham-On-Sea area.
