Hundreds of council properties in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge are to get improvements as part of a year-long scheme.

Homes in Sedgemoor, which manages 4,200 homes on behalf of Sedgemoor District Council, including many in Burnham and Highbridge, have agreed a programme of home improvements over the next 12 months.

The work will include new gas heating systems, boilers, doors and windows, roofs, rewiring and replacement guttering.

Paul Barry, Assistant Director Property, told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “Our Capital Programme continues to invest in homes for the future. This year’s programme follows on from our £25 million investment over the previous four years in relation to Decent Homes, and is all about continuing to improve homes for our customers.”

Duncan McGinty, Leader of Sedgemoor District Council, added: “We are delighted to see the progess being made to raise standards of homes across Sedgemoor.”
