Dick Whittington comes to Brean this week as the village’s Coastline Players perform their annual run of fun-filled pantomime shows.

Under the direction of Greg Fear, with choreography by Samantha Nicol and musical direction from Helen Newman, this show promises to be a sure-fire hit.

Tickets are still on sale for the show, which is being performed at Brean Village Hall from Monday 15th February – Saturday 20th February. Priced at £8/£5, they are available from Brean Post Office on 01278 751225.

The show tells the tale of a young man who goes to London to seek his fortune and become Lord Mayor of London.

With a cast of old and new faces it will include John Robinson as Dame Dolly Dumpling, Phil Crossland as the very Idle Jack, Pat Harris as Captain Cuttlefish, Judith James as his very silly mate, Scupper, and Kait Jarvis as our hero Dick Whittington.

Abbi Fear plays his love interest, Alice Fitzwarren, while Rachel Nicol is the energetic Tommy The Cat, Samantha Nicol is cockney-speaking Fairy Bow bells, Linda Bond is the evil Queen Rat, Robin Hewlett is Alderman Fitzwarren and Liz Bailey is the Sultana.

“Come and see this pantomime which will take you from the streets of London town onboard a ship and end up on a very strange island, with plenty of singing, dancing, audience participation and plenty of comedy and slapstick,” Greg told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
