Boxes of Christmas gifts for needy children packed in Highbridge

-

A group of residents in Highbridge has been packing Christmas boxes for needy young children overseas.

The group packed around 70 boxes for Operation Christmas Child at the Gospel Hall in Highbridge.

Hilary Cox said: “We packed the boxes with toys, sweets, toiletries, gloves and hats, and most important of all, our love and best wishes.”

“This means that at least 50 more children living with next to nothing will receive a Christmas present this year.”

Zoe Ryder is co-ordinating the collection this year and is accepting donations – either shoebox gifts or cash to help pay for the shipment of boxes – and if anyone would like to know more, or make a contribution, they can contact her on 01278 787654.

The deadline for donations is November 12th when they will be taken to Weston and from here they will be shipped directly to where they are needed most (last years’ went to Romania).
