A generous Brent Knoll woman is celebrating winning a £25,000 bingo jackpot – and is to give half the money to a close friend.

Lucky Anna Bream, 21, struck gold when she played the nationwide game at Taunton’s Mecca Bingo on a night out at the weekend.

She couldn’t believe it when her numbers were called one by one – with the 54 the final number to clinch her win, but the size of her win was not immediately clear.

“I knew I’d done really well when I called ‘bingo’ after 42 numbers, but it wasn’t until a few minutes later that they said I’d actually been called the nationwide winner around the whole country!” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“I was in complete shock! I couldn’t believe it, I was shaking so much that I couldn’t play any more – it was an amazing moment!”

Anna added: “I’m giving half the money to my friend Laura who came along with me.”

“She paid for me to play and has always been such a wonderful friend. I know she’d do the same for me if she’d won instead.”

Anna is also giving some of her win to her family and spending some on a few items for herself.
