Burnham and Weston town bands join forces for charity concert

-

Burnham and Highbidge Band and Weston Brass band are joining forces for a special concert in aid of Weston Hospice Care this Saturday evening (May 21st).

The bands will form a 30-strong ensemble to perform a programme of exciting music, starting at 7.45pm.

Tony Fricker, Chairman of Burnham and Highbridge Band, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This will be the first time that these two great bands will have played together and both bands are on top form.”

“Burnham and Highbridge won a gold medal at the Highbridge Music Festival in February and Weston has achieved fantastic success in the third section of the West of England Regional Final of the National Brass Band Championship.”

Tickets, priced £9 for standard seats and £7 for concessions, are available from the Princess Box Office on 01278 784464 and via the theatre website.

Due to circumstances beyond the control of the bands, Thomas Tallis’ Spem in Allium will now not be performed at this concert.
