-

Businesses are being encouraged to get involved in Armed Forces Day activities in Burnham-On-Sea town centre.

On Saturday 25th June there will be a parade through the town centre at 12.45pm a flag-raising ceremony at the town fountain and a Brew for the Few coffee morning for the British Legion.

Co-ordinated by Burnham’s MP James Heappey, local service charities and cadet cores, the parade aims to raise awareness of Armed Forces Day.

The Town Council, with the support of Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade, is co-ordinating a shop and business window competition and want as many businesses as possible to take part.

A Town Council spokesperson said: “There are lots of activities planned for Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25th June and we want our shop and business windows to be dressed in their finest.”

“To take part in the business window display competition, with a splendid silver cup for the winner, please theme your window for Armed Forces Day.”

Those who are taking part should email the Town Centre Manager to let her know that you are joining in and judging will take place on 25th June.
