Police are this week investigating an incident at Highbridge’s Apex Park in which a teenager was hurt when he was shot by a BB pellet gun.

A local resident, who has asked to remain anonymous, told Burnham-On-Sea.com about the incident which occured last Saturday (April 2nd).

“The boy was shot at with a BB/pellet gun from a distance by a gang of youths. He was in fact hit twice – once on his lower back and once on his upper arm, leaving red marks on his skin.”

“This could have been a lot more serious if the pellets had landed in someone’s face or eye. Although BB guns and air weapons may appear to be fun to use, they can be extremely dangerous.”

The boy’s family have contacted Burnham-On-Sea Police. Anyone with information about the incident can call 111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
