Dozens of youngsters took part in Burnham-On-Sea’s annual youth parade along the town’s beach followed by a seafront Fun Day on Saturday (June 27th).

The popular beach parade, now in its third year, was followed by an afternoon of entertainment by local groups on the seafront lawns for young people and families.

The Fun Day was organised by BOSH Events’ Jonathan Smith, Gaynor Brown, Karen Fear and Abbi Fear, this year’s Carnival Queen, pictured right.

Abi told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a very successful day and it was great to see the crowds out enjoying the sun while having fun at the same time and raising funds for Somerset Time For Youth, a great local cause.”

There was music from local groups The Dex and Odds To End, plus a special performance by The Singing Children of Africa, alongside local groups DanceFit, The Lisa Jane School of Dance and BEES.

Abbi added: “I have chosen ‘Somerset Time for Youth’ as my charity for the Youth Day because I am member of this group and they do amazing work for people with learning difficulties. Funds raised during the day will go to this very worthwhile local charity.”
