Judging of Burnham-On-Sea’s Christmas lights competition starts

-

Judging of Burnham and Highbridge’s official Christmas lights competition got underway last night (Wednesday).

Town councillors Martin Cox and Paul Young, pictured, have the job of assessing the best decorated homes across the two towns this week.

And they started at Burnham’s Trinity Close on Wednesday evening which has attracted national media attention with its stunning display of more than 100,000 lights.

Cllr Cox told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have been greatly impressed by the quality of the entries in this year’s competition which makes it difficult to choose the winners. We’ve been looking for innovation this year and found plenty of creativity with laser lights and even moving animals.”

Cllr Young added: “It’s been a wonderful effort this year by so many across Burnham and Highbridge – there are some great entries. We thank everyone who’s entered.”

The results of the competition, which is run by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, will be announced on Burnham-On-Sea.com during the next few days. The prizes will be presented at a council meeting in February.
