Watchfield Flower Show attracts colourful line-up of entries

-

Hundreds of flowers, vegetables, cakes and craft exhibits went on display at Watchfield’s annual show near Highbridge.

Watchfield Hall Chairman Keith Whitting told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had been a success.

“It was a superb event – we had a good number of entries and the judges praised the overall quality,” he said.

Among those thanked for their support were Lesley Stephenson, the judges who gave up their free time, all of the Watchfield Village Hall Committee for their efforts in staging the event, and everyone who entered exhibits and came along to the show.

“Particular thanks too to Linda James who came along as a Composting Champion, who had a Composting Corner to encourage us to recycle our waste. Also we were delighted that Marion and Dot ran a very successful Raffle, and we were also pleased to see Bob Filmer and Tessa Munt lend their support to the Flower Show by attending.”

The main winners included Sara Puddy, Kevin Watts, Mary Chalker, Marg Cornish, Peter Higman, Ann Williams, Annabelle Williams and Sarah George.
