Burnham-On-Sea’s Rotary Club and Rich’s Farmhouse Cider are organising a traditional night of Somerset wassailing on Saturday 17th January.

The ceremony and a night of live music will be held at the cider farm in Watchfield starting at 7pm.

Entertainment will be provided by The Skimmity Hitchers & Bob Darch Music with plenty of cider and other refreshments to beat the winter chills. The event is being held in aid of the Stroke Association.

Tickets are priced at £7.50 for adults (children under 12 free) and are available from Rich’s Farmhouse Cider in Watchfield, Highbridge on 01278 783651.

The centuries-old tradition of Somerset wassailing sees good health wished on apple crops for the coming year.

Other wassailing events also being held at Brent Knoll’s West Croft Cider Farm on the same evening at 7pm, and at Chestnut Farm in Edithmead at 7.30pm.
