Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers set to stride out on 26-mile charity trek

-

Two Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers are set to pull on their walking boots to raise cash for two good causes.

Paul Hale and Mike Barsby, both from Burnham’s Ritz Social Club, are taking part in the 26-mile London Trekathon on 26th September.

Paul is raising funds for Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue while Mike is helping funds for the Nepal Earthquake Fund.

“We wanted to help an international cause and a local cause – and have had lots of good support from sponsors so far,” said Paul. “We are hoping to raise a good sum for them both.”

“We both joined the gym earlier this year and have been in training for several months now, building up the distances. We are really looking forward to it.”

To support them with their fundraising, call in at The Ritz Social Club in Victoria Street, Burnham.

The challenging walk will run from the Olympic Park in Stratford through London’s parks and alongside waterways, passing famous sights including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral to finish on the Thames at Greenwich, right by the famous Cutty Sark.
