Lucky escape for van driver on Brean beach

-

The driver of this van had a lucky escape on Brean beach this week when he returned from a walk to find his vehicle surrounded by sea water.

The van had been parked on the beach next to Brean Down and the driver had wandered off without realising the incoming tide would reach it.

Brean beach warden Dave Furber told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The driver had passed a sign to get onto the beach which warned about the tides. He had a shock when he got back to his van and found the sea lapping at the wheels.”

“Fortunately, he was just in time to drive the vehicle off the beach but, once again, it serves as a warning about the danger of not checking the tide times if you drive onto the beach.”
