Hundreds of pounds have been raised for charity by raffling this giant patchwork quilt in Burnham-On-Sea.

Material Needs in Burnham High Street displayed the quilt in its shop window over the summer months to promote the raffle, which was held in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Burnham Lions Club has presented a cheque for £592 this weekj to Jenny Allen, who is fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The patchwork quilt was made up of 65 roses and was made by the ladies of Burnham U3A.

“It was named ’65 Roses Quilt’ because a young boy whose sister had Cystic Fibrosis was unable to say the name properly and always said ‘Sixty Five Roses’,” explained a spokeswoman.

Jenny is fund raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and is due to walk part of the Great Wall of China this month, as we recently reported here.
