Dozens of pupils from a Burnham-On-Sea school were treated to a morning on the town’s beach this week to mark the end of their school year.

The youngsters from St Joseph’s School and nursery, aged 3-11, took part in a sandcastle building competition and enjoyed a morning of other fun activities while dodging the showers.

Mr Harland, the headteacher, said: “All of the children brought along their buckets and spades to take part in the school’s annual sandcastle building competition. Despite the weather we had a fantastic morning and the children all enjoyed themselves.”

Morrisons supermarket kindly donated choc ices, which all of the children enjoyed.
