Somerset Care holds Christmas party for Burnham-On-Sea pensioners

-

A group of pensioners in Burnham-On-Sea has enjoyed a Christmas party provided by Somerset Care.

The second annual event saw a buffet lunch held at Burnham’s Baptist Church Hall in College Street, organised by Janine Stent, a community care worker.

This year’s event was funded partly by Brian Davies (Owner of Brean Markets), Burnham-On-Sea Moose International, Burnham and District Lions, Carl Grinrod, Julie Stent and Colin Goodman.

Entertainment was provided by vocalist Bruce Hudson, the Siobhan Johnson Singers choir and Burnham On Song.

Highbridge supermarket Asda donated gift tokens for the event. Volunteers on the day were organised by Nikki Stent.

The team of young helpers are fashion and textile students from the Weston-super-mare university campus.

Clients who attended all received a gift bag containing fleece blankets, and other gifts such as a calender, Christmas card and more.
