Mayor leads tributes to owner of Italian restaurant in Highbridge

-

Tributes have been paid to the owner of an Italian restaurant in Highbridge who has died this week.

Restauranteur Salvatore La Gambina ran Salvo’s Italian restaurant in Market Street for many years.

He sadly passed away in Bristol’s Royal Infirmary this week.

Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Cllr Michael Clarke said: “This is a sad loss of a great local restauranteur – he was always so welcoming and was a wonderful character who will be greatly missed.”

His funeral will be held in East Huntspill Church at 1pm on 29th September.

The family restaurant was previously located in Burnham-On-Sea, at the corner of Abingdon Street.
