Over 150 people gathered to wish the vicar of Brean and Berrow a happy retirement as she stepped down from her role on Friday (January 9th) after almost 14 years.

A retirement service was held at Berrow Church, followed by a party at Brean’s Farmer’s Tavern, for Reverend Sally Lacy.

She has been the popular Rector of St Mary’s in Berrow and St Bridget’s in Brean for about 14 years.

Sally, 65, told Burnham-On-Sea.com that she will miss the many wonderful people she has met in the two villages.

“It is with sadness that I am retiring – I will be sorry to leave the many wonderful people here in the parish,” she said.

“I will miss this busy role, but already have a lot of activities planned for my retirement.”

“I will be joining an African drumming circle, want to join a choir and continue singing, and am planning voluntary work, plus some time relaxing.”
