Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat station opens for ‘yellow wellie weekend’

-

Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat volunteers are opening their lifeboat station for a Mayday weekend of fun activities.

The RNLI’s nationwide ‘yellow wellie weekend’ marks the charity’s latest fundraising initiative.

The activities at the station in Pier Street, Burnham will include the Atlantic 75 Lifeboat being on display, a teddy tombola, knitted wellies to buy, a sale of games and puzzles, a drawing competition, a raffle and more.

“You can also have a go at soaking our crew with wet sponges in the stocks!” said spokesman Mike Lang. “Our lifeboat shop will also be open full with souvenirs to take home and refreshments will also be available.”

“The station will be open on Saturday and Sunday for lots of fun activities. Come along and meet us, and bring the children along.”

There will also be a ‘jelly in the welly’ competition and a spot the knitted yellow welly competition around the town.
